Reports: Boxing Star Devin Haney Arrested In Hollywood This Morning

Devin Haney is having a great time in the boxing ring, but he is having trouble outside of it.

When it comes to legal issues, Haney most certainly isn’t the first person that fights fans think of. Even if “The Dream” has done well for himself outside of the ring, the undisputed lightweight boxing champion was handcuffed on Thursday.

Reports: Boxing Star Devin Haney Arrested In Hollywood This Morning

Devin Haney, an undefeated boxing sensation, has run into legal issues after being arrested and charged with a felony for carrying a hidden firearm in Los Angeles, California.

The 30-0 boxer, who recently defeated Vasiliy Lomachenko, was out at Catch L.A. on Wednesday when, according to law enforcement, minutes after he left the hotspot at midnight, police pulled up his car for an improper lane change and failing to utilize a turn signal.

Under the driver’s seat, police allegedly discovered a semi-automatic weapon. Haney was travelling in the car with his bodyguards as well as the driver. The gun was not claimed by anyone in the automobile. As a result of the car being registered to him, Haney was detained for criminal possession of a concealed weapon.

According to jail logs, he was freed at 8:12 AM on Thursday on a $35,000 bond. He’s due in court for a hearing on the matter next month.

After achieving spectacular victories over Loma, George Kambosos Jr., Joseph Diaz Jr., and Yuriorkis Gamboa over the past several years, Haney has emerged as one of boxing’s brightest names.

Haney, a rising boxing star, defeated Vasyl Lomachenko at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas in May to raise his record to 30-0. The 24-year-old has 15 victories by knockout.

Wednesday night, Teofimo Lopez, who had come out of retirement to challenge Haney for the WBO title at 140 pounds, looked to accept Haney’s challenge.
